Diane Marie Fiske of Berlin passed away at the age of 84 on February 14, 2022 after a hard fought battle with cancer at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in New Britain on October 30, 1937, Diane was the daughter of late Frances Rosatti Squillacote and Vincent Squillacote.
Diane was a member of St. Paul Church in Kensington. Diane worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles, Dealers and Repairers Division where she retired in 2003. She was a member of AFSCME Union, Chapter 4 Retirees, the Berlin Senior Center and the Spanish American Cultural Club. Her family meant the world to her and she enjoyed many family gatherings. She loved to go to the casino, play bingo, setback and bocce.
She was married to her loving husband George Fiske for 61 years before he passed. Diane is survived by her loving family, her daughter Laura Karoll and her husband Jeff, and daughter Debbie Simons and her husband Jim all of Berlin; her grandchildren, Kristen Karoll Holmes and her husband Matthew, Korey Karoll and his wife Ashley, and her great grandchild Eli Holmes. She also leaves a brother James Squillacote and his wife Barbara, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters Mary Kazersky and Paula Jacques and one brother Leo Squillacote.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Church in Kensington. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home/Porter’s, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin.
