Obituary

Elmo Wallace was born January 26, 1947. He was the son of the late Deacon Elmo Wallace and Dr Claudette Wallace and brother of the late Andre Wallace. Elmo passed away unexpectedly in his home on February 7, 2023.

Elmo was a long time resident of New Britain, Ct and affectionately known as “AL”. He was a life member of the NAACP, a Veteran of the Air Force  and a graduate of FAMU, majoring in mathematics.

He is survived by his former wife Barbara and his four children Rashala Burrus, Simmi Wallace, Rajee Wallace and Claudette Wallace. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and one great grandson, his sister Dr Renee Wallace and his niece Love Wallace. His nephew Matthew Kulinski and companion Karen Bruenn.

Al loved computers, fresh water fishing and card games. He had eclectic culinary choices and a love of jazz.  He was an accomplished and rated chess player. He taught many “good students” computer science in various middles schools throughout New Britain. He studied different religions and philosophies throughout his life. He enjoyed engaging in debates about life, politics and beliefs. He lived a life full of highs and lows and everything in between for 76 years. He will truly be missed by his family and friends. May he be remembered well.
