Greta Stifel-Arnone, age 61 of Kensington beloved wife of John Arnone passed away on 3/2/20 after a long courageous battle against NETS cancer.
Born in New Britain she was the daughter of Vilma (Piatek) Stifel and the late John M. Stifel. Greta was a Kensington resident most of her life and was self-employed as a financial advisor at Cornerstone Financial Planning located in Milford CT, where she was loved by her clients and considered them her friends.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her two sisters, Karen Stifel of Kensington and Lisa Stifel and her husband Brian Skupa of Rio Rancho New Mexico; her sister-in-law, Jennifer Arnone Anda and her husband John Anda of Wilton; and her mother-in-law, JoAnne Arnone of Norwalk. She is predeceased by her sister Mariann Vigilante, nephew Justin Longo, and father-in-law Demetrio Arnone Jr.
She also leaves behind her nephew Joe Roberge and wife Alaina, daughter Angelina and two son’s John and Thomas from Waterford. Greta also leaves behind her beloved pugs, Elvis and Andos and many friends and family.
Greta was most proud of when she passed CT Bill HB6522 which requires physicians to obtain training to screen for certain cancers, including NETS and other rare GI cancers. Greta loved animals and was passionate in her support of No Kill animal shelters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday,3/6/20 at St. Paul Church 416 Alling Street, Kensington. Calling hours will be held and Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin/Porter’s, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin Friday morning from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Connecticut Hospice, Driven to a Cure.org and the Meriden Humane Society.
