Obituary
Irene Mary (Makris) Fritz, 77, of Kensington, beloved wife of Raymond A. Fritz, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.
Born in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Muriel (Allen) Makris. Irene was a former resident of New Britain and Brooklyn, NY before moving to Kensington in 1958. She was formerly employed at Connecticut Light & Power Co. and also worked as a waitress at her father’s dinner, Makris Dinner and as a secretary for Tupperware distribution before retiring. She was a member of St. Paul Church.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond A. Fritz; two sisters, Joan Antonucci and Linda Gardner; a brother Louis Makris; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 9, at 11:30 AM at St. Paul Church in Kensington. Burial will be in South Burying Ground. Calling hours are Friday morning, from 9:30 to 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Kensington.
