James V. Fusco, 83, of Kensington, CT passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at home with his family by his side. James was born in New Britain, CT on September 27, 1936 and was the son of the late Stefano and Virginia (DiMugno) Fusco. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Jim attended Bentley College, and graduated from Hartford Institute of Accounting. Following graduation, he served in the Air Force reserves for 6 years. He was the sole owner of South Main Package store and New Britain Well Machine and retired from Royal Machine and Tool. He was an active member of St. Paul Church and lifetime member of IPIC of Kensington.
Jim’s greatest enjoyment came from eating great food while spending time with his family at many events throughout the years. He was an avid sports fan, and had a particular love for the UConn Huskies and the New York Giants. He spent many weekends at the Dunes Beach in Westerly, RI with the all-important stop on the way back to his favorite slot machine at Mohegan Sun. An avid traveler, he and Betty traveled to Hawaii, Italy, numerous islands and family vacations, the most favorite being in Cape Cod.
In addition to the love of his life, Betty (Zotter) of 61 years, he is survived by his children, Stephen and Anita Fusco of Tuftonboro, NH, Jamie and Donna Fusco of Kensington, CT and Beth and John Kavanagh of Southington, CT and his loving grandchildren Spencer, Casey, Molly, Jay, Kayla and Brendan and many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his deep and enduring sense of kindness and generosity which inspired care and concern for others. He was the first person to offer a word of encouragement and helping hand to his friends and family. As a man of few words, his actions spoke for his wonderful character.
