Katherine Andrea “Kate” Farr, 32, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2022 at UCONN Health Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Bogota, Colombia, she was a Kensington resident most of her life before moving to Bristol in 2017. Kate attended St. Paul Church in Kensington.
Kate was a funny, loving, and nurturing woman who loved gathering with friends and family. In her early years she enjoyed dance, cheerleading and the many outdoor activities she was able to do like snowmobiling and quading.
In her later years, she suffered with alcoholism that ultimately had its effects on hereditary liver disease and sadly took her life at a young age. Her family has learned and would like others to learn about the impacts of addiction and mental health. It can be a devastating disease for those who suffer with it and those around them.
Surviving are her mother, Michelle (Domingue) Farr of Cromwell; her fiancé, Craig Osakowicz of Bristol; a sister, Rebecca Towery and her husband Dane of North Dakota; a brother, Thomas J. Farr of Middletown; her grandparents, James and Delores (Calvo) Farr of Farmington; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kate was predeceased by her father, Thomas R. Farr, and by her grandparents, Rene Domingue and Lucille (Celella) Domingue.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:30 AM at St. Paul Church. A private burial will take place at a later date in Maple Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin/Porters, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Kensington.
Kate’s family and her fiancé would like to formally thank the team at UCONN Health Center, including Dr. David Ozimek and Dr. Jaclyn Cox, Patty Newman- Clinical Social Worker, all of the nurses and aides on the sixth floor at UCONN, and the AccentCare/Season’s Hospice team.
Memorial donations may be made to the UCONN Foundation.
