Linda Zipadelli-Soj, 74, of Colchester, CT passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday July 18, 2023. She fought cancer with incredible strength and courage. She never quit fighting her disease. Linda is most remembered for being an incredibly dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother (Ghee Ghee).
Linda is survived by her loving husband and best friend Richard Soj, their daughter, Brittany Karchner and her husband, Benjamin Karchner of Hummelstown, PA. She is survived by her two incredible grandchildren Clint and Caroline Karchner.
Linda was born in New Britain, CT, to the late John and Sophie Zipadelli. She leaves behind her brother Robert Zipadelli and wife Lori of Kensington, CT, her brother Alan Zipadelli of Southington, CT, and her brother David Zipadelli of Avon, CT; her brother-in-law Edward Soj of Farmington, CT; and her aunt Dolores Urso. She also leaves behind wonderful nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She is survived by numerous and amazing cousins and friends.
Linda was a loving wife to Richard and the two of them enjoyed traveling throughout the US and in Europe. They both shared a love of water whether it be spending weekends boating out on the lake or trips to the ocean.
Linda was the most incredible mom to Brittany. It was pure joy to watch her grow up and turn into an outstanding young woman, nurse practitioner, and mother. She could not have been more impressed with her son-in-law Benny, his cooking, and his love for her daughter.
There is nothing Linda loved more than her grandchildren. She was the one to go to for every boo-boo and upsetting moment, when you wanted a sweet treat, any toy on the planet, to read a book together, or when you just needed a hug. She gave the best advice, kept all secrets, and gave out endless love.
Linda worked 54 years as a medical coder for a Harford Neurosurgical group. This was her first and only job and a very difficult job to leave. She enjoyed her coworkers who became family.
