Margery Helen (Guy) May, 86, of Kensington, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.
Born in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Marian (Miller) Guy. Marge lived in Kensington since 1972 and took great pride in her Ohio (Buckeye) roots. She was a devoted staff member of the YWCA in New Britain where she taught preschool classes and was affectionately known as “Miss Marge.” After she retired from the “Y”, Marge continued nurturing young children by providing daycare for her seven grandchildren, helping them count, reading countless stories, and singing her unique songs. She was an active and faithful Kensington Congregational Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority member and volunteered much of her time at Berlin Public Schools. Her greatest joy was her family. Marge’s family would like to thank her team of caregivers and dialysis staff for their years of devoted care and love.
Surviving are three children, Gwen McCann and her husband Michael, Gregory May and his wife Denise, and Todd May and his wife Lizete, all of Kensington; and seven grandchildren, Maya and Grace McCann, Trevor, Taiten and Trista May, Chase and Reagan May. Margery was predeceased by her twin sister, Marilyn Fisher, and her brother, Thomas Guy. She was also predeceased by her former husband, Lyle May.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, at 1:00 PM at Kensington Congregational Church, 312 Percival Avenue, Kensington. The Service will be live-streamed at https://www.facebook.com/KensingtonCongregationalChurch/videos.
