Michael Anthony Sokolowski, age 58, of Berlin, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022, after fierce but very short battle with glioblastoma.
Michael’s success in the business world as the Managing Partner of Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski, LLC earned him well-deserved respect, admiration and an impeccable reputation in Berlin, Middletown and statewide communities. His work gave him tremendous satisfaction, but more importantly, gave him many of his closest friends. Countless clients today proudly call Mike their friend.
But, by far, Mike’s most fulfilling job was being the father to his five children: Sam, Emma, Charlie, Lily and Jackson. Together, with Jacquelyn, they raised their children to learn the value of hard work, perseverance, humility, and above all, the importance of family.
Michael was also a son to Marcia, a brother to Bobby, Steven and Brian, a son in law to Joan, a brother-in-law, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend to so many! He was predeceased by his father Stanley, his father-in-law George, and the beloved family dog, Lady.
A charitable foundation is being started in Mike’s memory. Not-for-profit organizations were always near and dear to Mike’s heart, and so the mission of this new foundation will be to grant funds to further pursue the needs of the organization of the individuals they serve in Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sok Up the Sun Foundation, C/O Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski, LLC, 505 Main Street, 3rd Floor, Middletown, CT. 06457.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Paul Church in Kensington. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin is in charge of arrangements.
