Miriam (Johnson) Kemp, 86, of Berlin, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, April 10, 2021. She was the widow of Wallace Louis Kemp.
Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late James and Artinsy (Cox) Johnson. Miriam was formerly employed as a CNA at the Jerome Home in New Britain. She was a devoted member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 47 years.
Predeceased by her siblings, David Johnson, James Johnson, Jr., John Johnson, Mable Stallmacher and daughter Annette Kemp. Surviving are five children, Debra Mwezi, Wallace Kemp (Stephanie), Lori McNeill (Donald), Ronald Kemp (Sharon), Paula Burch (Michael) and daughter in-law Debbie McNeill. Two sisters, Naomi Evans and Margaret Cook. Grandchildren: Philemon Mwezi, Benjamin Mwezi, Nathan Mwezi (Alysson), Melanie Gilbert, Wallace Kemp, Jr., Candace McNeill, Layah McNeill, Theresa Kemp, Christian Kemp and Kendra Burch. Miriam loved the ministry and found great joy in serving Jehovah. Her heart's desire is found at 3 John 4 “No greater joy do I have than this: that I should hear that my children go on walking in the truth.”
A special thanks to her long-time caregivers: Mikayla, Dachima, Babie & Sarra. A memorial service, via zoom, will be held on May 8th @ 1:00p.m. A private burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in New Britain at a future date.
