Pamela Hrenko Obituary

Pamela Hrenko of Berlin, Connecticut passed in the comfort of her family's presence the morning of March 11, 2020. Pamela attended Berlin High School (Class of 1973) where she participated in the Drama Club as the "Prop Diva." Throughout her life as a Berlin resident, she served as a huge supporter of all things Berlin. Her involvement ranged from volunteering at book fairs, typing student stories in the publishing center, and chaperoning field trips. She will always be remembered as the “Penny Candy Lady” at the yearly Willard Elementary School Children’s Fair. One of Pamela's greatest passions was supporting and participating in her kids' extracurricular activities. With six children, these activities spanned over two decades. In this time, she never missed a single game or musical her children participated in. Even though she was technically there to support her own kids, she was quick to adopt all the other Redcoats. "Momma Hrenko" was a fixture at every event, and a nickname most of her children's friends used. Pamela raised her children to love camping and spending summers in Vermont on the Battenkill River where she enjoyed tag saling, finding treasures at live auctions, and reading a romance novel a day. In more recent years, you could find Pamela watching more than one sports game on television at a time, cheering on the UConn Huskies and the Red Sox with her husband, cooking a delicious meal, singing along to Dolly Parton, drinking coffee, attending musicals with her children, or talking on the phone with her mother. Pamela was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, niece, cousin, and will be remembered as a lover of all children. She is survived by her husband, James, five children: Christopher, Anthony, Jonathan, Mary, and Amy, granddaughter, Olivia, and mother, Carol Dauphin. Pamela is joining her late father, Albert Dauphin, daughter, Katherine, and dog, Freckles, in heaven.

The Hrenko family will be having a private funeral for the safety of Pamela's family and friends. The family will be having a memorial service at a future date to celebrate Pam's life, and look forward to seeing more friends and family at that time.
