Rev. Charles “Chuck” Davis, 93, of Berlin, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Fern) Davis.
Born in Bellevue, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Walter Davis and Genevieve Ella (Cole) Davis. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1949, received his Bachelor of Divinity from Oberlin College in 1961, and his Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University in 1965. Chuck was formerly employed as the head of Social Services for the Town of Berlin and was well known as a Pastor in the Berlin area and as a State of CT Police Chaplin. Chuck was a member of the Kensington Congregational Church, Unity Lodge #148 and Battle Creek Lodge #12.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Beth Benoit (Gregory) and Kym Clementino (Mark); a son, Charles Abbott Davis (Patricia); a daughter in law, Luann Davis; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his son Bob W. Davis and his brothers, Robert W. Davis and Donald A. Davis.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kensington Congregational Church, 312 Percival Avenue, Kensington, CT 06037. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin is in charge of arrangements.
