Robert Pulito Obituary

Robert James Pulito, 92, of Kensington, passed away early Wednesday, April 7, 2021 after a brief illness.  Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Victoria and Daniel Pulito.  Robert was predeceased in 2018 by his loving wife of 65 years, Edith Shirley (Munson) Pulito, and his brothers, Anthony, Francis, Alfred and James. 

He is survived by two daughters, and a son-in-law, Laurie Pulito, with whom he made his home, and Susan and Robert Alquesta of East Canaan; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Melissa Pulito of Brownfield, Maine; his brother Daniel Pulito of Rocky Hill; his grandchildren, who were the joys of his life, Steven Alquesta and his wife Mollee, Andrew Alquesta, Laura and Thomas Pulito; several nieces and nephews; and many dear family members and friends.

Robert was a quality craftsman and owner of the Colonial Tile and Marble Co. and was a State of Connecticut retiree, having worked at Blue Hills Hospital.  He was a graduate of Berlin High School, Class of 1946, where he designed “The Lamp” yearbook and where he played football, basketball, and baseball.  He was a dedicated fan of UCONN Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Army Football, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers.  Robert was a member of St. Paul Church and the Knights of Columbus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul Church at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.  There will be no calling hours due to Covid concerns.  A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the Berlin VNA, 240 Kensington Rd, Berlin, CT 06037 or to the Connecticut Food Bank, 2 Research Parkway, Wallingford, CT 06492.  Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin is in charge of arrangements.
