BERLIN - Ronald Picard, 89, of Berlin, loving husband of Rita (Thibodeau) Picard, died early Saturday (March 23, 2013) at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain. Born in Frenchville, Maine, the son of the late Joseph and the late Alice (Bouchard) Picard, he served in the US Army in WWII, and was employed at Fafnir Bearing Company until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Church, and St. Jean Baptiste Societe. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard Picard of West Palm Beach, Florida, Kenneth and JoAnne Picard of Marlborough, and Allen and Donna Picard of East Berlin, a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and James Carriere of Berlin, three sisters, Simone Miron of Farmington, Marie Tucker of New Britain, and Egline Hollfelder of Canton, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Picard. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (March 27, 2013) at 9am from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin, with a Funeral Liturgy at 10am at St. Paul Church. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday (March 26, 2013) from 5-8pm.
