Sarah M. Byrnes

Sarah Margaret Byrnes, 30, of Cromwell, passed away after an unexpected illness on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021 at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in New Britain, she was a long time Kensington resident before moving to Cromwell in 2014.  Sarah was employed in data management, currently working for PPD in North Carolina.  She loved her many trips to Aruba, volunteering at the CT Humane Society, and spending time with her family at Oak Grove Beach in Niantic.   Sarah enjoyed basketball and the New England Patriots.  She was a member of Kensington Congregational Church.

Surviving are her parents, Patti Byrnes and Michael Byrnes; her sister, Kelly Byrnes; her boyfriend, George Thomson; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and her dog, Tucker.  She was predeceased by her grandparents, John and Margaret Byrnes, and Jack and Barbara Knaus.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021 at 10 AM at Kensington Congregational Church.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin/Porters, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Kensington.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kensington Congregational Church, 312 Percival Ave. Kensington, CT  06037 or to the Connecticut Humane Society (In support of Ella’s Eats), 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
