Tadeusz Tofil, 65, of Berlin, husband of Barbara Tofil, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Poland, he was the son of Franciszka Tofil of Poland and the late Jan Tofil. Tadeusz was a long time New Britain resident before moving to Berlin five years ago. Tadeusz finished a bachelor's degree in architecture in Poland, and worked at his dream job. After moving his family to the USA, he excelled in many trades before becoming a painter for over 20 years. Tadeusz was a gifted handyman and was able to fix anything. He loved music, playing the accordion and keyboard, and singing. He also loved sharing his love of traveling with his wife and kids, always being up for an adventure.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Barbara (Duzy) Tofil; three children, Mariusz Tofil and his wife Nicola, Izabela Rutkowski and her husband Seweryn, Magdalena Turner and her husband Darren; his mother, Franciszka (Maziarz) Tofil; three brothers, Stanislaw and Stanisława Tofil, Jozef and Anna Tofil, and Eugieniusz and Małgorzata Tofil; his sister, Aniela and Henryk Kuziora; and six grandchildren he greatly adored: Kaya-Lilliana, Maximilian, Dominik, Adam, Emma, and Olivia. He will also be very missed by all of his extended family: cousins, nieces, and nephews of Poland and USA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin/Porters; 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Kensington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin/Porters.
